It is acustom of the Miao people for greeting guests. When a guest arrives,the host places a bowl of wine at the door to him or her. The more winethe guest drinks, the happier the host will be.

Miao Flower-Drum Dance

People of the Miao ethnicgroup hold dance shows around the Spring Festival, on the 8th of 4thlunar month, on the 6th of the 6th lunar month and on occasions ofspecial significance. Two persons dance and beat drums at the sametime, or one person dances and the other beats the drum to accompanythe dancer.
