Traditional Embroidery Helps Fenghuang Miao People out of Poverty

The photo, taken on February 18, 2019, shows female embroiders of Laojiazhai make Miao embroidery. Laojiazhai is located in Xionglong Village, Fenghuang County, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hunan Province. In July 2018, Laomiaozhai integrates Miao handicrafts and tourism after relocating the poorer people from inhospitable areas. The move helps inherit traditional skills and increase villagers’ income.
