Corn arrack is popular in Zhangjiajie Tujia nationality. Since its cheap cost, almost every family can brew corn arrack by themselves, making use of their own home-grown corn as raw material. Zhangjjiajie corn arrack accounts for a large market share because of pure taste.

As for the origin, there was once a beautiful legend. It was said that there was an old man named Xiang living inTianziMountain. Xiang invented the way of brewing corn arrack and made a living by selling corn arrack. Xiang had an only child who also sold corn arrack as his father did. Long time ago, corn arrack was started regarding as a kind of treasure by Tujia people.
