When the bride comes to the gate of the bridegroom’s home, women from the bridegroom’s village will rush on like a swarm of hornets. They crush towards the bride and then pinch her from all quarters in order to impress on the bride.

It is said that whoever pinches the bride, she will be filled in good fortune. Some thinks that a patient will recover after pinching the bride. Some women may vigorously pinch the bride to make fun, but the bride cannot shout out. The bride’s father usually asks bridal people to follow the bride closely in order to protect the bride.

After the pinching customs, the bridal women from the bride’s side will support the bride with their hands and lead her to central hall to drink the nuptial cup with the bridegroom. Then, the bride and bridegroom worship ancestors and thrice kneel and nine times’ bowing. When completed, the bridegroom goes to central hall and the bride goes to nuptial chamber with music playing and firecracker setting off.
